The Project
Some projects come together because everyone involved is at the top of their game. Cornwall Street in Lathlain is one of them. We partnered with Zazen Building and Design to deliver the opening louvre roof on this stunning renovation, which went on to win a Master Builders award for Best Alterations & Additions.
Zazen’s renovation transformed the home, and the outdoor living area was a key part of the design. The brief was to create a space that flows naturally from inside to out and can be used all year round. An opening louvre roof was the perfect fit: open for sunshine and breeze, closed for shade and rain protection.
On a build of this calibre the details matter. We worked closely with Zazen to make sure the louvre roof was integrated into the overall design rather than added as an afterthought. The result sits seamlessly with the architecture of the home.
The owners now have an outdoor area that works as hard as the rest of the house. Whether it’s a sunny weekend lunch or a wet winter evening, the roof adjusts at the touch of a button to suit the conditions.
We’re proud to have played a part in an award-winning project and congratulations to the team at Zazen Building and Design on a well-deserved win.
